Jon Goes On…Have You Seen Deadliest Warrior?

Swords, shields, arrows, weaponry, battle, blood, evil…SPIKE’s Deadliest Warrior is a show that’s right up Jonathan Murphy’s alley. Every episode features a scientific matchup between two of civilization’s most legendary and most feared warriors culminating in a head-to-head final fight to determine who was the deadliest warrior.

“You get to scientifically see how lethal a particular warrior really was in comparison to another,” says Jonathan. “It’s so interesting…and there are great staged fights at the end. I watched Season 1 and 2 on Netflix and am looking forward to Season 3! the show’s website has aftermath episodes where the team discusses the controversies that came up after a show aired.”

JONATHAN MURPHY’S FAVORITE BATTLES

Season 1, Episode 8: William Wallace vs. Shaka Zulu

“William Wallace (aka Braveheart) is pitted against Shaka Zula, the legendary Zulu warrior king. This episode highlighted one of the coolest swords…the Claymore, a giant, two-handed broadsword. It could cut a man in half!”

Season 2, Episode 19: Vlad the Impaler vs. Sun Tzu

“This is the episode that matches genius against insanity…and insanity wins! I mean, how can you beat crazy? Sun Tzu wrote the book on the art of war, but Vlad was completely out of his mind…he impaled his adversaries on large stakes and enjoyed their screams.”

Season 1: Back for Blood Special – Spartan vs. Samurai

“I was rooting for the Samurai but the Spartan won because the Spartans were walking tanks with armor and shields no one could penetrate. Samurai’s were more cunning and had better weaponry but they couldn’t break the tank! I guess it’s true that the best offense is a good defense.”
